“Turtle Island Games – Animal Names” is an educational computer game that teaches animal names in six First Nations languages (Cree, Dene, Shuswap, North Slavey, Gwich’In and Tsuut’ina) as well as English, French and Spanish.
Language connects us to our heritage but it also connects us to the future. Learning a new
language opens doors to cultures and ideas. By developing computer
games that teach traditional indigenous languages we can connect people to a future that
includes these important languages.
